What is Assembly Language

Codes for the actual instructions a computer executes when running a program. Most programs are written in higher level computer languages such as C, C++ or Java but programmers can sometimes create more efficient machine instructions by writing portions of a program in Assembly Language. Assembly Language programs are not "portable" to other platforms are time-consuming to construct, so they are only used when really needed, like embedded controllers or high-performance graphics.
